GAAFIL is the story of an unmarried man who fights to adopt an orphaned girl, even though it is not legally allowed in India. Once a man who never respected women due to his past experiences, his outlook changes when he falls in love with a woman who dreams of adopting a girl child. Sadly, she passes away before fulfilling her wish. To honor her, he decides to adopt the child but faces legal and social hurdles. GAAFIL follows his journey of struggle, change, and transformation from a carefree man to a responsible guardian. 

GAAFIL is a Marathi feature film theatrically released on 2nd February 2024 in Maharashtra, India. The film was shot entirely in the Amravati district of Maharashtra. The project primarily features local talent, with most artists and technicians being freshers from the region. Spanning over 100 locations and involving a cast of over 1,000 artists, the film set a milestone as the first production from the area to achieve a grand state-level theatrical release, running for three weeks in selected centers. 

As of early 2025, the film has garnered recognition at four national and one international film festival, with expectations of further accolades. The teaser was officially launched by Shri Pravin Pote, former State Minister and MLC from Amravati, while the trailer was unveiled by then Member of Parliament, Navneet Rana.

Dr. Milind Ashok Dhoke is an Indian filmmaker who debuted in the Marathi film industry with GAAFIL. He holds an Honorary Doctorate in Filmmaking and is a world and national record holder for working on the maximum designations in a short film. He is also a UGC NET and PET qualified from Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University & Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University in Journalism & Mass Communication. A silver medalist from IIT Madras in Film Appreciation, he is also certified by FTII and the National Film Archives of India. His award-winning short film The VENGEANCE received over 100 national and international awards. Besides this, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering. 

Manoj Bhende, an experienced film producer, entered the Marathi film industry with Saasar Majhe He Mandir (2009), a major success, running for 100 days in selected theaters. After a long break, he returns as a producer with GAAFIL. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Alekh Agrawal, a renowned businessman from Amravati, also joins the project as a producer, bringing his business expertise to the production of GAAFIL.
